Celebrate each day…

Happy 43rd to us!

Reflections on that time and beyond… We got married in a fever, the hottest day of the drought ~ Pretty sure it hit 102 degrees that day. It was so hot that the icing on the cakes started melting because our reception was outside at my family home!

The groomsmen put shaving cream on JT’s mom’s red Grand Prix which left permanent decorations and ruined the paint.

There was talk of throwing him in the pool but instead they just put rice down his pants as we left. 😆

We went straight to the new car wash on South Church Avenue. Mr. Gene Estes, father of one of our friends, helped JT wash the car because if you know him, you know!

We headed out to Panama City Beach, Florida for our Honeymoon where we stayed at an old family favorite motel ~ The Trade Winds. I mean it had gotten old since my family had been there…

Back in the day, sunscreen wasn’t much of a thing so we got blistered.

We looked like lobsters; we were miserable!

When you were in the shower if someone in the next room flushed the toilet, the water in the shower went HOT 😬 That’s pretty bad when you’re blistered! We grabbed the ice bucket and filled it with water to rinse so we could test for and avoid that hot water.

Of course, we “peeled” for weeks after. 🙄

We were so young and clueless.

It’s been quite a wild ride full of ups and downs, twists and turns, just like a roller coaster! Life is like that.

We’ve been through many trials and hardships but we’ve experienced many blessings.

We’ve learned a lot:

Always use sunscreen! 🥵

Never take anyone or anything for granted.

Take life day by day.

Don’t take everything so seriously.

Don’t over-extend yourselves.

Be a little spontaneous.

Don’t “save your nice” things for too long. Use them.

Life is too short to worry and stress about things, most of which will not happen.

Forgive quickly.

Extend grace and mercy to one another.

You can make more money, but you can’t make more time.

Take the trip!

Put all of your trust in the Lord.

Lastly, treasure and celebrate each day together. God will carry you through whatever He allows you to go through. He is the third strand in the cord of three strands. He keeps it all from unraveling. Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12
