Easter & All the Stuff

We celebrated our Risen Savior today in spite of the weather and missing our SIL who was called out after Wednesday’s storms. 🥲

The music & the message this morning were such a blessing! 🙌🏻

We rejoiced to welcome new families into our SLBC church family too which made it extra special. I pray we’ll be a blessing to them as we serve the Lord together.

We gave Maeley her Easter basket after church which had some candy (of course), a few toys, a couple of books, a ✝️ necklace, & Whitney’ s Teeny Beanie Baby collection from McDonalds that been preserved in their little plastic bags in the top of a closet for over 25 years! (Remember when we thought we were going to make money off of those stuffies 😅)

Hearing Maeley pray at lunch was another huge blessing!! She prayed for her daddy & thanked Jesus for dying on the cross for us. 😍#outofthemouthsofbabes

We hosted lunch with the fam today.
I pulled out Momma’s china & glasses, used her tall green vase with some of the yellow irises that came from her yard. 💛

All of these events make Easter wonderful & fun but
a card given to us by a few years ago by my sister and her husband sums it up,
“The Tomb is empty; our Hearts are Full.” 🥰

I’m celebrating my salvation 45 years ago this Easter.

I was a teenager and had been in church all of my life. I had even joined the church but I was not saved.

The Holy Spirit convicted me in a Good Friday service that although I knew about Christ’s death and resurrection, I had never accepted His offer of salvation for my sins.

On Easter morning I did that on a pier at Lake Tiak O’Khata.

Now my name is not only on the church roll but in the Lamb’s Book of Life !

As much as I love all of the other special things & it makes my heart so happy…. Easter is really all about accepting Jesus’ sacrifice for your sins, Y’all.

You can spend your entire life hearing about Jesus and knowing all the stuff like I did but if you don’t accept His sacrifice, resurrection & victory over sin as your own, it’s just head knowledge.

He’s waiting at the foot of that cross where He died for you and me for you to accept His offer.

He’s not in the tomb! 🙌🏻

He’s alive & he wants you to be also!
