Today we are celebrating #internationalwomensday , attempting to #breakthebias against women & girls all over the world.
I was talking to a friend who said that her daughter was a little of a feminist. To which I replied, “ Me too & that’s not a bad thing.”
I have a sticky note on the bathroom mirror that reads:
Walk in Your Purpose & Empower Others to Do the Same.

That’s my mantra.
I want to teach it to our little grand too.

I’m for women & girls,
the ones I know,
the ones I don’t know.
I’m for the women & girls who struggle every day, those who are in hard places.
I want them to take up space,
to know that they matter, that they’re worth the effort.
I want them to know that they can do great things & the hard things that life brings their way.
I want them to study hard,
work hard to overcome their circumstances,
to trust that they can do whatever they set their mind on.
When they fail or fall down I don’t want them to give up or settle. I want them to get back up and keep moving forward in faith.
I believe God wants all of these things for them too.
I know this Bible verse was not written about a woman but women all over the world have claimed it & taken it to heart.
I believe God will honor that.
I also know that He created women, loves them, has a plan & a purpose for every one of them.
God is for women so I am too.
“God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.”
- Psalm 46:5
