Attempting a Pet Portrait

A blank sheet of paper can be intimidating for me …

I’ve been working in trying to paint our little dachshund.
It’s the first time I’ve ever tried to do an animal.

It’s tough trying to capture her uniqueness. Getting the proportions of her features right is a challenge!

I’ve also tried different mediums, first acrylics, then watercolors. I keep working and trying to get her just right; to capture her look & personality. She has been a special part of our family for almost 15 years now and I want to get this piece just right.

I’ll very likely attempt to paint her again because I’m not quite satisfied yet.

When God created you and me He made us unique – Psalm 139 says we are fearfully & wonderfully made.

There’s no one else like us. .
But He loves us too much to just leave us and say, “Eh, good enough.” 😅

Just as I keep working on this artwork, He’s still working on His children too, creating a masterpiece.

Ephesians 2: 10
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Acrylics were a challenge
Proportions were off
Closer but not quite right
