OH MY !
I spent most of a day and finally finished taking down decorations the next morning. I love putting them up and and reflecting on the special ornaments that came from former students, friends and family members, some of whom have passed on.
I really hate to take the decorations down and go “cold turkey” so I transition to snowmen which is kind of strange because it hit 80 degrees when I was putting them out 😅 (I’ve heard that the cold weather is on its way) ! 🥶
I had to add a light string to a garland around the front door when I put it up so I was trying to salvage that strand when I snapped the funny pic above. 🤣
I ended up throwing the whole thing away; so unlike me because I’m a little stubborn about trying to use things as long as possible and not adding to the landfill. This particular garland had been in use for so long that it was shedding worse than my hair and half of the lights had quit working so I gave up & chunked it! 😅
When I was teaching getting all the decorations down and the house cleaned was a big deal and I had more time than most working people do. Time was (and is still) a valuable thing !
As the New Year approaches I’m trying to make better use of my time. Cleaning is not my idea of time well-spent but it is necessary & Improving Time Management is always on my list of resolutions. I’d rather spend my time doing things with my people.
Our daughter gave us a robot vacuum for Christmas and though it’s not something I would have bought, we are loving it ! I ran it the day after Christmas and since I hadn’t vacuumed in several days I wasn’t surprised how much dust and hair it picked up BUT TODAY I ran it after I vacuumed (with my Oreck no less) up all of the fake needles and WOW! I was amazed at how much it picked up …I highly recommend it and so do lots of others; it has 4.5 stars! 👍
I think I’ll name her Rosie; remember the Jetson’s robot? Now if I could find a robot that does all that she did ! 😍

When I vacuum upstairs with my Shark I love seeing what it picks up in the clear cup and I always think about our products & tools that remove dead skin cells & clean out pores like:
