What’s the Best Yes?

My Book Shelfie: The Best Yes https://amzn.to/3nnwWVj

See that third book from the left on the shelf ? “The Best Yes” by Lysa Terkeurst.

It was the first book of hers I read. I can really identify with Lysa.

I’m a doer & I love doing good things to help people like she does.

Today our pastor included Ephesians 2:10 in his message.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

God created me to do good things; He created me for a purpose as He does all of His children.

Here’s the thing I came to realize when I read “The Best Yes”: I can do good things or I can do God Things-

There are lots of activities I enjoy doing. I can really fill up my calendar!

But I need to be very careful about overcommitting myself so I don’t miss the best things… the things God wants me to do.

God also gave me a heart for giving.

It’s my love language.

As much as I love giving to this little girl, even more,  I want her to love to give too.

A few weeks ago we went to the store and bought things to go in shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child including little dolls & furniture. We had so much fun cutting up magazines to decorate the inside of the boxes like little doll houses.

Giving her things is a good thing but teaching her to enjoy giving is truly the Best Yes.
