Mercy and Relationship Work

I was not really expecting a lot out of our current Bible study on relationships with women.
I’ll tell you why……in the past I’ve thought ( and still do to a degree) if my relationship with God is right then my relationships with people will be good as well.

So I’ve focused on my relationship with Him and tried to apply the same principles to the relationships with others.

The session I’m preparing for as I write this is on the Good Samaritan. Luke 10:25-37.
Luke 10: 27 says “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength “ and with all your mind “ and “ Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Wanting to justify himself the expert on the law asked, “ And who is my neighbor?”
Then Jesus told the parable that is so convicting .

Then He asked, “ Which of these do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

The expert in the law replied, “ The one who had mercy on him. “
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Mercy is something that I am so thankful for each day because I need it daily !!

I’m praying that I would be as willing to show mercy to others as God is to show it to me every day.

I have been very glad we chose to do this study and highly recommend “ We Saved You a Seat “ by Lisa -Jo Barker for any ladies’ group.

What I have realized is that not only do we need to actively work on our relationship with the Lord but we have to work on our relationships with others!

The people who cross our paths and the relationships we have with them are in our lives for a reason and have a purpose.

May we point others to Christ through them and bring glory to Him in the process.

I love our Ladies’ Bible study group !!

I was so busy I used to think i didn’t have time to do a Bible study . I was doing good to read my Bible each morning before work.

When I joined the group I realized how much I needed this group each Wednesday to get me through the week ! Our group of ladies taught me so much and helped me grow. It also gave me a community that I needed that I really didn’t know I needed plus they had COFFEE !

The ladies who’ve led the group were so insightful and positive. I really looked forward to their teachings each week to bring some much-needed laughter to my Hump Day ! One of the ladies was so entertaining and made us laugh a lot !

After the former leader told us she was leaving the group to focus on her Sunday school class I fell into the leader role. 😳

I was comfortable teaching kids but leading adults was way out of my comfort zone !

I’m still learning how ….
But I look forward to our time together each week and make myself available, praying that God will use me and equip me ! Hopefully the ladies in the group look forward to our time together and go away revitalized and recharged for the rest of the week.

If you are local to me and need a community that supports and encourages you, holla back at me !
